MW
megawatt
Powerexact by definition
The megawatt is exactly 10⁶ watts, an exact relation. It is the unit of generation and grid capacity: a large wind turbine is 3 to 15 MW, a gas turbine unit a few hundred MW, and a large nuclear reactor around 1000 MW electrical.
Watch out: Generation capacity is quoted as MW but electricity produced is MWh, and confusing the two overstates or understates output by whatever the operating hours are. Note also MWe versus MWth, electrical versus thermal megawatts: a thermal plant producing 3000 MWth may deliver only 1000 MWe.
