This is a generic currency placeholder, not any particular currency. The site does not convert between currencies and holds no exchange rates, so a value entered here is simply whatever money you are already thinking in: dollars, euros, pounds, yen or anything else. Its conversion factor of one exists only so that cost rates can be converted between physical units while leaving the money untouched.
Watch out: Because no exchange rate is applied, a result is in the same currency as the input and nothing more. Comparing a figure from one country with a figure from another, or a price from one year with a price from another, requires an exchange rate and an inflation adjustment that this tool does not supply.
