acre per hour
Area per timeexact by definition
The acre per hour is the North American measure of field capacity, exactly 4046.8564224 ÷ 3600 m²/s, about 1.124. Machinery brochures quote it, and custom operators bill by it.

About the acre per hour
The imperial shortcut for field capacity carries a constant rather than a clean divide by ten:
ac/h = width (ft) × speed (mph) × efficiency ÷ 8.25
The 8.25 is 43,560 square feet per acre divided by 5,280 feet per mile — it is just the unit conversion, wearing a disguise. A 30-foot drill at 5 mph at 80% efficiency covers 30 × 5 × 0.8 ÷ 8.25 = 14.5 ac/h.
One acre per hour is 0.4047 hectares per hour, so a machine rated at 15 ac/h is doing about 6.1 ha/h.
