mBq
millibecquerel
Radioactivityexact by definition
The millibecquerel is 10⁻³ Bq, one decay every thousand seconds. Environmental radioactivity monitoring works here: fallout radionuclides in soil and food are reported in mBq per kilogram, and reaching those levels takes long counts in shielded low-background detectors.
Watch out: Note that the catalog's existing "MBq" entry is the MEGAbecquerel. The prefixes m and M differ by a factor of 10⁹ and the case of a single letter is the only thing separating them.
