The picocurie is 0.037 Bq exactly, since the curie is defined as exactly 3.7 × 10¹⁰ Bq. It survives in North America almost entirely for one reason: radon in indoor air is regulated in pCi/L, and the US action level of 4 pCi/L is the most widely quoted radiological number in the country.
Watch out: The rest of the world writes the same limit as 148 Bq/m³, and the two look nothing alike. The conversion is 1 pCi/L = 37 Bq/m³, combining the curie factor with the litre-to-cubic-metre one.
