Magnetic flux densityexact by definition
The millitesla is one thousandth of a tesla. Small permanent magnets, magnetic separators, Hall sensor working ranges and the fringe fields around large magnets are commonly quoted in millitesla. The factor of 1e-3 is exact, being an SI prefix.
Watch out: The 5 gauss line marked around MRI installations, the boundary beyond which pacemakers and ferrous objects are considered at risk, is 0.5 millitesla.
