nΩ·m
nanoohm meter
Electrical resistivityexact by definition
The nanoohm metre is one billionth of an ohm metre. It covers the same metallic range as the microohm centimetre but stays in metres: annealed copper is about 17.2 nanoohm metres, exactly ten times its value in microohm centimetres. The factor of 1e-9 is exact, being an SI prefix.
Watch out: The ten-to-one relationship between nanoohm metres and microohm centimetres catches people out, because the two units look like they should be closer together than they are.
