Ω·cm

ohm centimeter

Electrical resistivityexact by definition

The ohm centimetre is resistivity expressed over a one centimetre cube, equal to exactly 0.01 ohm metres. It is the customary unit in semiconductor wafer specification and in water purity work, where ultrapure water is quoted as 18.2 megaohm centimetres. The factor is exact, since the centimetre is exactly 0.01 metres.

Watch out: Ohm centimetres and ohm metres differ by a factor of 100, not 10 as the length ratio alone might suggest, because the area term and the length term both change. A silicon wafer at 10 ohm centimetres is 0.1 ohm metres.
