pound-force second

Momentumexact by definition

The pound-force second is the impulse delivered by one pound-force acting for one second, exactly 4.4482216152605 N·s. The value is exact because the pound-force is exactly defined. Numerically it equals the momentum of one slug moving at one foot per second.

Watch out: Do not confuse it with the pound foot per second, which uses the mass pound and is 32.174 times smaller. Small solid rocket motors and airbag inflators are commonly specified in lbf·s of total impulse.
