US gallon per acre

Volume per areaexact by definition

The US gallon per acre is the North American sprayer unit, exactly 3.785411784 × 10⁻³ ÷ 4046.8564224 m³/m², about 9.354 × 10⁻⁷. Field crop application is typically 10 to 20 gal/ac; airblast orchard spraying runs far higher.

Watch out: The US gallon is 231 cubic inches; the imperial gallon used in older Canadian and British material is 20% larger. A rate written "gal/ac" in a 1970s Canadian bulletin is very likely imperial and needs the 1.201 factor before it means anything today.
