kΩ
kiloohm
Resistanceexact by definition
The kiloohm is one thousand ohms. Most resistors in signal electronics sit in this decade: pull-ups, bias networks, op-amp feedback pairs and voltage dividers are usually specified in kilohms because the resulting currents are small enough to ignore thermally. The factor of 1000 is exact, being an SI prefix.
