N·mm

newton millimeter

Torqueexact by definition

The newton millimetre is exactly 10⁻³ newton metres, numerically identical to the millinewton metre. It is the form finite element output and small fastener specifications usually take, because the rest of the model is already dimensioned in millimetres.

Watch out: N·mm and mN·m are the same number and are read from opposite directions, which is why both are listed. A moment of 5000 N·mm is 5 N·m, and misreading it as 5000 mN·m would be right by accident; misreading it as 5000 N·m would not.
