cwt
US hundredweight
Massexact by definition
The US hundredweight, also called the short or cental hundredweight, is exactly 100 avoirdupois pounds, or 45.359237 kilograms. It is a twentieth of the short ton and is still the quoting unit for US agricultural commodities: milk, rice, sugar and cattle prices are all per cwt.
Watch out: The British hundredweight is 112 pounds, not 100. Both are written cwt, and a price per cwt is 12 percent different depending on which side of the Atlantic wrote it.
