mW

milliwatt

Powerexact by definition

The milliwatt is exactly one thousandth of a watt, an exact SI prefix relation. It is the working unit of radio transmit power, laser output and low-power electronics. Radio and optical work often quotes it logarithmically as dBm, where 0 dBm is exactly 1 mW.

Watch out: Take care with the symbol. Lowercase mW is the milliwatt and uppercase MW is the megawatt, a factor of 10⁹ apart. Case is load-bearing in SI symbols and this pair is the most consequential collision in the power units.
