rpm/s

rpm per second

Angular accelerationexact by definition

An rpm per second is 2π/60 rad/s², about 0.1047 rad/s². It is how motor and drive ramp rates are actually specified: a variable frequency drive programmed to reach 1,800 rpm in 10 seconds is accelerating at 180 rpm/s.

Watch out: The unit mixes minutes and seconds, so the conversion carries a factor of 2π/60 rather than a clean power of ten. Drive parameters are more often entered as a ramp time to base speed than as a rate, and the two forms describe the same thing only if the ramp is linear.
