kiloelectron volt
Energyexact by definition
The kiloelectronvolt is exactly 1000 electronvolts, or 1.602176634 × 10⁻¹⁶ joules. It is exact for the same reason the electronvolt is: the elementary charge has been fixed by definition since 2019. It is the scale of X-rays, inner-shell atomic transitions and low-energy nuclear physics.
