imp pt
imperial pint
Volumeexact by definition
The imperial pint is exactly 1/8 of an imperial gallon, 568.26125 millilitres, made up of 20 imperial fluid ounces. It is the legal measure for draught beer and cider and for doorstep milk in the United Kingdom, where it is one of the few imperial units with statutory protection.
Watch out: It is about 20% larger than the US pint of 473.18 mL. A pint of beer in London is meaningfully more beer than a pint in Boston, and any recipe or specification quoting pints needs its system identified.
